I wanted to cover the whole spectrum of the fashion design process, as I believe a good designer needs to have an understanding in all the aspects of the design process from concept to finished garment."

In 2004 Lisa Gilbert spent some time in London on work placements with three companies, British Womenswear design label, Kal Kaur Rai who had a small concession in Topshop’s Oxford Circus at the time, also working with her PR coverage at Debbie Cain PR Ltd and then last but not least going onto a placement at the very successful and much loved Alexander McQueen label.
Almost immediately after her graduation Lisa secured a role as an assistant designer for Yorkshire based denim brand Mish Mash Jeans where she worked for 5 years. In November 2010 she took on her second role of Cad Project Manager working part time for Stalybridge based PHDesigns, a high-end mountaineering made to order company. Lisa now also runs her own business offering a bespoke service creating individual pieces to her clients every needs.
